Evergreen Crafters

Nestled in Downtown Evergreen there is a special store that seems to carry a little something for everyone, Evergreen Crafters. This year they will celebrate their 75th anniversary. Evergreen Crafters carries a large variety of goods for both tourists and locals alike. Susan and Bob Fariss are only the second owners of this Downtown Evergreen gem. They took over this historical business in 2004. Susan worked at the store prior to purchasing it. “Our roots are here in Evergreen. We just love the beauty of the area and the people.”

This store caters to everyone from new moms to newlyweds to new guests to our state. And there are options a-plenty for many different ages and tastes. It’s easy to spend a lot of time here just “looking around.” Hosting a gathering? You may want to pick up some tasty dip mix, sauces, or margarita mix. Maybe add a fun new serving dish. Anything from locally made gourmet chocolate, specialty soaps and lotions, to bronze sculptures, gorgeous cashmere wraps and women’s clothing. It’s also a great spot to pick up a rugged Outback coat, a hat or belt for the man in your life, artist-created jewelry and wall art, or one of literally hundreds of beautifully illustrated greeting cards. The baby department at Evergreen Crafters is the largest in the area. Grandparents love choosing the new love-in-their-life’s first outfit, moccasins, book or stuffed animal. “We strive to support local artists and if we have a request from a customer, we work to search for what they’re looking for. If not for this mountain community, Evergreen Crafters wouldn’t be in business. “

Tourists from all over the country come in annually to see what “part of Colorado” they can take home with them and to say hello again to their friendly staff, while locals know they can always come in for that gift that will be memorable upon receipt and even leave with it in a professional complimentary gift wrap. So many times that happy customer will say, “They’ll know I didn’t wrap it!” You’ll be happy you’ve stopped by next time you’re looking for that “just right” gift.

And, if you’re a dog in Evergreen, chances are you’ve enjoyed one of the treats under the counter. Evergreen Crafters has a well-rounded retail pet area along with an ever-filled bowl of water out front for our four-legged pals.

Susan and Bob appreciate veterans by offering a military discount and are supportive to the many various organizations in this community in their time as store owners. Most of the staff has been a part of the group for many years as it’s such a family atmosphere.
