Details
Evergreen Fire/Rescue, aka the Evergreen Fire Protection District, has been serving the Evergreen community since 1948. In addition to emergency medical services and firefighting, we serve our community with multiple risk reduction and supportive programs. The Evergreen Community Assistance Referral and Education Services (ECARES) offers in home health education and preventative care. The Risk Reduction Division offers educational programs for all ages, in addition to annual fire inspections of businesses, driveway and construction reviews. The Wildland Division offers free home wildfire risk assessments, educational presentations, and a fuels mitigation crew that chips slash for homeowners and thins vegetation along high-risk roads and around neighborhoods. Other paid staff include mechanics, facility maintenance, and administration activities. There are many opportunities to volunteer at Evergreen Fire/Rescue from becoming a volunteer firefighter or a med tech to joining the auxiliary Turnouts to support events and special outreach programs.
